You failed.

Not once. Not twice. But enough times to start questioning your place with God.

But what if failure was never the end of your story?

God never fails, but He often allows us to be tested before promoting us.

The test is not to earn promotion, but to prepare and reveal readiness. That is, to determine whether we can handle more than what we currently have or where we are.

Although it might appear like a condition, a closer look shows that it is for our own protection. This still reveals His love toward us and shows that He has our best interest at heart.

Now, the amazing part of it all is that He never gives up on us. As often as we may think we are ready for our blessings, He is always there for us.

You might have failed God many times and, as a result, given up on yourself and completely written yourself off.

But here is the good news for you right now: God has not given up on you, no matter what you have done.

He said, “Though your sins are as scarlet, I will make them as white as snow.” In other words, no matter how bad or unforgivable you think your sin is, God can forgive you, accept you, restore you, and promote you.

Despite his close relationship with Jesus and his confession of love for Him, Peter denied Him three times (which shows it was a deliberate moment of weakness) at a moment when His disciples should have stood with Him.

Surprisingly, Peter thought it was all over. He and some other disciples returned to their former way of life before they knew Jesus. Yet it was right there, in the midst of their work, that Jesus came back to them.

He intentionally reached out to Peter and asked him three times, “Do you love me?” Each time, Peter responded, “Yes,” and Jesus not only forgave and restored him, but also commissioned him for something greater.

My dear friend, your case can never be an exception when it comes to God forgiving and restoring people. However, He has given us the free will to return to Him—He will not force Himself on us.

All you need to do is take the bold step of returning to Him. Acknowledge your sins, confess them, and turn away from them.

You see, it all starts with you. He has already played His part by offering His only Son, Jesus, to suffer and die for your sins. He resurrected and gave you victory and the power to keep going. Your part is simply to accept it and walk in it.

No matter how far you have gone from God, no matter how long you have been away, no matter the damage or loss you have suffered or are still suffering—God is calling you and waiting for you to come back to Him. He will gladly accept you, restore you, and redeem your losses, even in ways you may not expect.

You are not too far gone.
